This isn’t your average “espresso with a dash of milk” situation — this is the caffeinated equivalent of a tuxedo with sneakers: bold, smooth, and just rebellious enough to make your morning interesting. At Wild Octane, we believe the espresso macchiato is proof that balance exists — rich espresso crowned with a kiss of frothy milk, like a power move disguised as elegance.
Ingredients:
-
2 shots freshly pulled espresso (bright, high-octane roast preferred)
-
1 tbsp smoked honey syrup (recipe below)
-
1–2 tbsp micro-foamed milk (just enough to “stain” the espresso)
-
Optional garnish: citrus zest or cacao nib dust
Smoked Honey Syrup (make ahead):
-
¼ cup raw honey
-
¼ cup hot water
-
1 drop liquid smoke (or a quick waft of smoked wood if you’re fancy)
Mix until fully combined. Store in a sealed jar.
Instructions:
-
Pull the shots – Brew 2 shots of espresso straight into a small glass.
-
Sweeten with edge – Stir in 1 tbsp smoked honey syrup. The smokiness cuts through the intensity of the espresso without drowning it.
-
Mark it classic – Add just a spoonful or two of silky micro-foam on top to “macchiare” (stain) the espresso.
-
Garnish optional – For extra Wild Octane flair, sprinkle with crushed cacao nibs or express an orange zest over the top.
